Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Nursing Officer to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic vision, long-term planning, direction, and overall accountability for patient care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate and interpret organizational and departmental missions, goals, and objectives to all areas of responsibility.
  • Provide leadership and direction in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities.
  • Direct personnel to provide service to all customers, including patient advocacy, while ensuring mechanisms for quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Ensure staff competency, serve as a mentor, and offer guidance to the nursing leadership team.
  • Plan and control the physical environment, materials, equipment, and supplies to provide competitive, cost-effective care to patients.
  • Coordinate with executive administration and other interdisciplinary groups on policy formation, performance improvement, information systems, and risk management.
  • Participate in and represent the hospital at community and professional activities to enhance customer service.
  • Ensure professional development and training for nurses and ancillary staff at all levels of clinical employment.
  • Adhere to evidence-based practice.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, healthcare administration, business administration, or other health-related field.
  • 5 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting, including 3 years of successfully managing complex hospital and patient care delivery.
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods involved in education, orientation, evaluation, and supervision.
  • Good organizational skills and time management skills, with the ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
