Park Aide Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Park Aide to join our team at the State of California. As a Park Aide, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to park visitors, registering campers, disseminating information about park rules and regulations, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet park visitors, providing information and assistance as needed
  • Register campers and manage reservations
  • Disseminate information about park rules and regulations
  • Operate a motor vehicle and perform various administrative tasks
  • Effectively communicate with other park staff and visitors
  • Manage operating funds and make correct change for customers
  • Prepare accurate records of daily transaction activities
  • Maintain various accountable documents and operate an electronic cash register
  • Successfully prepare campground reservation information using computer software
  • Issue refunds and troubleshoot problems with reservations
  • Maintain a clean work space and post updated bulletins
  • Raise and lower flags as appropriate

Working Conditions:

The Park Aide will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with park visitors and staff on a daily basis. The position requires moderate physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, squatting, bending, twisting, lifting, carrying, reaching, and talking. The Park Aide must be able to work under stressful conditions and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with park visitors and staff
  • Ability to follow directions and perform various administrative tasks
  • Ability to compute fees, make change, and balance cash
  • Ability to learn procedures, rules, and regulations quickly
  • Ability to perform varied manual tasks
