Key Responsibilities- Pre-Call-Out Procedures: Check call-outs for the day, ensure charts are padded with necessary forms, and verify lab results, EKGs, and X-Ray results.
- Pill Call Preparation: Prepare the MARS pill call cart, order refills as needed, and ensure the cart is clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Medication Management: Check and prepare general pill call cart/Medications for A-J, K-Z, INH, and order refills as needed.
- Lab and EKG Preparation: Prepare for ordered labs and EKGs, input patient information into the computer, and start call-outs for the day once command post releases traffic via radio.
- Emergency Response: Tend to emergencies as they arise, including insulin pill call and administration.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Clean the nurse's station, file charts not in use, and make copies of necessary paperwork for the next shift.
- Shift Report and End of Shift Counts: Conduct shift report and end of shift counts (narcotics and Sharps) with relieving shift.
- Active LPN License: Possession of an active, unencumbered, unrestricted, and valid Louisiana Practical Nurse license from the LSBN to practice nursing.
- Professional Experience: At least three years of professional nursing experience, with at least one year in a hospital, clinic, or 24-hour psychiatric facility setting.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate Care: Ability to provide compassionate and reliable care to patients.
