Linux Systems Administrator Staff

Lockheed Martin is seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator Staff to join our team. As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing IT systems, with a particular emphasis on Linux environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide support for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems.
- Manage IT system infrastructure and associated processes.
- Handle the daily configuration and operation of IT systems.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, including monitoring and resolving issues for client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices.
- Ensure smooth functioning and availability of IT systems through proactive monitoring and issue resolution.
- Deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
- Assist in the escalation and communication of system status to agency management and internal customers.
- Configure and manage Linux operating systems.
- Install and load operating system software, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
- Troubleshoot issues, maintain the integrity of network components, and implement enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
- Optimize system operations and resource utilization.
- Conduct system capacity analysis and planning to ensure systems meet current and future demands.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
- In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted.
- 10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
- Experience with Linux system administration, including configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and vSphere is beneficial.
- Ansible experience is preferred.
