This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OREducation:
One full year of graduate-level education in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Superior Academic Achievement:
To be considered under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been attained in a curriculum qualifying for the position to be filled.
Superior Academic Achievement is based on:

(2) Grade-Point Average (G.P.A.) - Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on the official transcript, or based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of required courses completed in the major field during the final two years of the curriculum; OR
(3) Honor Society Membership - Eligibility may be based on membership in approved national scholastic honor societies.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours by 18. Add the two percentages.
GS-0- Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes studying and interpreting basic design data and reviewing completed plans and specifications to identify discrepancies; contacting suppliers and contractors to obtain cost and capability data; validating cost engineering work products for format, completeness, and pricing; and possessing knowledge of cost-estimating methods to independently perform a wide range of duties related to cost-estimating products.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OREducation:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

A combination of education and experience may be utilized to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

OREducation:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
