Project Accountant Opportunity

Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. is a reputable construction management company seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our Accounting Team in Ft. Myers.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly pay applications using AIA G702/G703 and other accounts receivable invoice forms as required by owner contracts.
  • Ensure subcontractor/supplier waivers of lien are received and correct.
  • Verify compliance requirements for W-9's, insurance certificates, EEO, and other documents are met by subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare sworn statements for billings as required.
  • Assist in follow-up on outstanding accounts receivable invoices and ensure positive cash flow for the company and its subcontractors/suppliers.
  • Process contracts and change orders accurately and timely.
  • Analyze project variances and work with the project team to ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Organize and maintain project files, adhering to project document guidelines.
  • Collaborate with customers to meet their reporting needs.
  • Close out project accounts upon project completion.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a construction project cost environment, preferably with a bachelor's degree in accounting or business.
  • Superior organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong background in using Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, and ability to become familiar with firm-specific programs and software (Acumatica).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with sensitive matters.
