Job Summary

Sonic Healthcare USA, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for enhancing the quality of our laboratory information systems and services, analyzing data to inform business decisions, and finding technological solutions to business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate business needs through effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement laboratory operations protocols and quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Drive results-oriented initiatives to improve service quality and continuous improvement.
  • Train and mentor incoming Lab Ops Specialists to ensure effective knowledge transfer.
  • Conduct requirements gathering through workshops, site visits, and other methods to identify customer needs.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to write clear and concise requirements specifications.
  • Translate conceptual customer requirements into functional requirements for developers and project teams.
  • Manage and track requirements throughout the project lifecycle, enforcing and redefining as necessary.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of laboratory operations leadership experience.
  • At least three years of experience in data processing, with at least two years of experience with laboratory information systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of computer languages used within databases and database design and construction.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work environment is a standard office setting with prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
