Job Summary

The Hotel Chief Engineer will be responsible for the overall maintenance and upkeep of the hotel facilities, including the physical building structure, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, and related equipment. This position will also supervise maintenance staff and ensure a safe environment for guests and associates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the department budget and capital expenditures.
  • Hire, train, and manage maintenance staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and drills to ensure emergency preparedness.
  • Maintain all equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • 3-5 years of hotel or building maintenance or engineering experience.
  • Property maintenance certifications preferred.
  • Able to obtain and/or maintain any government-required licenses, certificates, or permits.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift.

Working Conditions

The Hotel Chief Engineer will work in a fast-paced hotel environment and be required to work weekends and holidays as needed.
