Job Description

Houston Engineering is seeking a skilled Survey Technician to join our team. As a Survey Technician, you will be part of a survey crew supporting various projects within the civil engineering field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to various jobsites to obtain necessary survey data and jobsite information.
  • Gather field survey data to determine precise location & measurements of points, elevations, and contours, etc.
  • Process survey data, ensuring compliance to applicable regulations and professional standards.
  • Perform simple surveying calculations, deed research, deed plotting and map checks.
  • Prepare accurate survey plats and drawings, legal descriptions and alignment drawings.
  • Ensure schedules and productivity objectives set by Survey Crew Chief are achieved.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • AA Degree in Engineering Technology or Land Surveying preferred.
  • Above average math skills and strong computer/ technical skills.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to interact with coworkers and contractors.
  • Must be detail-orientated, self-motivated and able to work in an outdoor environment.
  • Valid driver's license required with good driving record.
  • Ability to lift equipment or objects weighing 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Daily activity will require prolonged periods of standing, walking and pounding hubs.
  • Trimble survey equipment experience preferred.
