Job Title: Equipment Design Senior Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Equipment Design Senior Engineer to join our team at American Honda Motor Co. in Marysville, Ohio.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing equipment required for new model introduction into Honda facilities. This will involve leveraging 3D CAD software and simulation tools to identify key change points and summarize design requirements into specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop optimal machine concepts for process characteristic changes using sound engineering principles
  • Provide technical support for equipment and process, and assist with project leadership functions
  • Collaborate with design teams and plant members to achieve quality, cost, and safety criteria
  • Drive forward small to mid-sized business plan projects from an engineering perspective
  • Perform detailed process studies of new model car parts to understand machine capability and identify issues for car part designers
  • Create specification and scope of work documentation to summarize changepoints and establish criteria and process/part flow
  • Support online installation phase verification of project specifications
  • Maintain critical path schedules to ensure overall project milestones are met
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD systems and software
  • Background in automated equipment development
  • Excellent technical communication skills
Working Conditions:
  • 85% office environment for specification documentation creation
  • 15% manufacturing floor for direct line side investigation and system support
  • Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and internationally as required for project support
