Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician Job Description

Advanced Veterinary Specialists, a premier specialty and emergency veterinary hospital, is seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with board-certified Internists to provide exceptional care to patients with complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate care and monitoring for animals admitted to the internal medicine department
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures, including biopsies and aspiration cytology
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners, offering guidance on their animal's condition and treatment options
  • Monitor anesthetic procedures and maintain accurate medical records
  • Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care and treatment
Requirements:
  • Licensed as a RVT in the state of California
  • High school diploma
  • General understanding and experience with small animal restraint, with a focus on cats and dogs
  • Calm, professional demeanor and strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital
