Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in San Leandro, CA. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for providing high-quality patient care. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and managing mental illnesses, as well as prescribing and reviewing medications. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our patients and contributing to their overall health and happiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose mental illnesses, developing effective treatment plans
  • Prescribe and review medications, monitoring patient responses
  • Assess patient conditions, from admission to ongoing monitoring
  • Develop and facilitate individualized medical treatment care plans
  • Cultivate therapeutic relationships with patients, fostering trust and understanding
  • Successfully de-escalate situations regarding patients in psychiatric urgencies
  • Perform administrative functions such as clinical charting and REMS/cures monitoring

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 1-year experience in Psychiatric nursing or Nurse Practitioner role
  • Completed Nurse Practitioner accredited program
  • Possession of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC or other certification bodies)
  • Licensed to practice in California as RN and/or NP
  • Able to work in San Leandro, CA
  • Knowledge of modern clinical psychiatry principles and practices
  • Experience in behavioral health medication management
  • Ability to determine diagnostic and therapeutic techniques needed for individual situations
  • Experience interacting with people from disadvantaged backgrounds and working in low-income/under-served communities
  • Current California Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate in good standing
  • Malpractice insurance
