Job Summary:
We are seeking highly qualified and experienced professionals to join our part-time lecturer pool in the School of Journalism and Media Studies at San Diego State University. As a lecturer, you will have the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in journalism, advertising, public relations, and media studies, and contribute to the academic and professional development of our students.
Responsibilities:
- Teach undergraduate courses in journalism, advertising, public relations, and media studies
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the program's goals and objectives
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students
- Participate in departmental and university service activities
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in journalism, mass communication, or a related field, or substantial professional experience
- Prior university teaching experience in journalism, advertising, public relations, or media studies
- Demonstrated knowledge of media industries and experience in individualized instruction or a communications-related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in journalism, mass communication, or a related field
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
