Job Title: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I

TPC Sugarloaf, a premier golf destination in Duluth, Georgia, is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I to join our team. As a key member of our Golf Course Maintenance Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the exceptional quality of our 27-hole golf course.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement daily departmental work schedules, coordinating activities with staff to maintain the highest standards of golf course maintenance.
  • Assist the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations in personnel matters, including pay rates, performance reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Schedule and supervise daily operations, ensuring adequate staffing to meet departmental goals.
  • Establish and promote safety practices, training employees in safety procedures and internal protocols.
  • Maintain purchase order systems, related invoice logs, and ensure cleanliness of golf course equipment, maintenance facilities, and grounds.
  • Assist with budget preparation, monitoring, and control, performing all functions within budget limits.
  • Record keeping for supplies, daily logs, application records, climatic conditions, and personnel records, verifying departmental staff time cards.
  • Develop and implement cultural maintenance programs to maintain the golf course and landscape grounds in good condition.
  • Operate within local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in turf management or related field, or equivalent work-related experience in turf management.
  • Three to four years of similar golf course maintenance experience in progressively responsible positions.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Working knowledge of golf course operations, turf management, and practices necessary.
Physical Demands and Working Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment, requiring regular standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, and use of hands to handle or feel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
