Overview

The role involves operating a rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle, equipped with a front-mounted hydraulic bucket or scoop, to lift and transport bulk materials to various locations, including storage or processing areas, and to load trucks. This position includes on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiates the engine, shifts gears, engages pedals, and steers to control the loader.
  • Utilizes levers to lower and tilt the bucket, driving the loader forward to engage with bulk materials.
  • Raises and tilts the bucket when filled, transports the vehicle to the designated site, and operates levers to unload materials.
  • Conducts routine maintenance on the loader, including lubrication, fueling, and cleaning tasks.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
Certifications
  • Appropriate certification is necessary.
Experience
  • Relevant training and experience are essential.
Skills and Abilities

Operators should be capable of:
  • Maintaining safe work practices.
  • Working in dusty or dirty environments.
  • Following instructions and achieving established standards.
  • Accurately judging distances and slopes, making decisions based on measurable criteria.
Physically, operators must be able to:
  • Bend, stoop, and crouch as needed.
  • Utilize hands, arms, and legs effectively.
  • Have good vision (with or without correction).
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
