Job Summary

The Nebo School District is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Instructional Technician - Cluster Unit to join our team. As a key member of our Special Education department, you will play a vital role in supporting students with significant disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the supervision, care, and instruction of students with significant disabilities under the guidance of a certified teacher.
  • Observe and document student progress, implementing educational and behavioral plans as needed.
  • Provide daily living care, medical assistance, and support to students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to fulfill students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
  • Implement behavioral plans designed by the IEP team to create a consistent learning environment.
  • Deliver academic instruction to individuals or small groups, meeting learning goals as described by the IEP and district benchmarks.
  • Maintain instructional materials and student records, ensuring the availability of necessary items and providing reliable information.
  • Monitor students in various settings, including the classroom, playground, and during field trips.
  • Participate in meetings and in-service presentations to acquire and convey information relevant to job functions.
Requirements
  • SKILLS: Ability to perform multiple tasks, with a potential need to upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required include preparing and maintaining accurate records, adhering to safety practices, and administering first aid.
  • KNOWLEDGE: Basic math skills, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios. Ability to read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and present information to others. Understanding of safety practices and procedures, as well as stages of child development/behavior.
  • ABILITY: Scheduling activities, collating data, and using basic job-related equipment. Flexibility to work with others in various circumstances, work with data utilizing specific processes, and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability to work with a diversity of individuals, work with specific job-related data, and utilize specific job-related equipment. Problem-solving skills to identify issues and create action plans.
Working Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require significant physical demands, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under conditions with some exposure to the risk of injury and/or illness.
