Job Summary

We are seeking a Seasonal Patient Care Technician to join our team at Texas Health Resources. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide assistance to patients according to their plan of care, collect patient data, and identify and report significant findings to the nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to patients according to their plan of care.
  • Collect patient data and identify and report significant findings to the nurse.
  • Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge.
  • Provide and revise patient activities of daily living based on patient and family preferences.
  • Perform technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Take action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
  • Enter orders into the computer or manual system if applicable.
  • Document accurately and appropriately.
  • In collaboration with the nurse, adapt care to reflect patient population.
  • In collaboration with the nurse, incorporate cultural and religious needs and beliefs into delivery of care.
  • Keep the patient environment clean and maintain a safe environment.
  • Anticipate patient, family, and visitor needs and take action to meet those needs and round as appropriate.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (REQUIRED)
  • 1 year experience required within the last 3 years (REQUIRED)
  • No experience required if nursing student who has completed fundamentals or military experience with medical training equivalent (REQUIRED)
Licenses and Certifications
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly (REQUIRED)
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 90 Days; Maintained Annually (REQUIRED)
