Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician PRN to join our team at Medical City Arlington. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating, drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
  • Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient information as outlined by policy.
  • Assist with mobility by regular turning and positioning, dangling, and ambulating patients. Assist with use of walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs.
  • Transfer patients to and from other units, departments, or entities.
  • Assist with discharges.
  • Obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests.
  • Ensure accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
  • Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
