Job Summary

This Sales Associate role is located at our store in Havana, Illinois. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide exceptional customer service, drive sales, and maintain a well-organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and assist with finding merchandise and answering questions.
  • Use the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers locate items on their lists.
  • Complete all company and departmental paperwork accurately, including price change bulletins and inventory adjustments.
  • Receive, unpack, and stock merchandise, checking paperwork against items received.
  • Display and maintain merchandise on shelves, counters, and tables, following company planograms.
  • Maintain on-hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports and follow nightly maintenance checklists.
  • Stay up-to-date on new products and promotions.
  • Practice loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
  • Operate cash registers, engage customers through suggestive selling, and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • 6 months of related experience and/or training preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively with customers and associates.
  • Basic math skills and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate.
