We are seeking an experienced Controller for our Construction company. This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving company where you will be a key player in managing and driving financial operations.

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $110,000 - $160,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) plan with company match, generous PTO package, laptop, and company events and outings.

Job Description:

This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in construction accounting, financial management, and lien management. The successful candidate will oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, liens/lien waivers, and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities include coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements, ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, and developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; master's degree or CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of proven accounting experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in driving the financial planning of a company, managing financial risks, record-keeping, financial reporting, and profitability analysis.
  • AIA documentation experience.
  • Proven experience with lien processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, databases, and financial analysis applications.
  • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with various departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
