Production Engineer

Entegris is seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer to join our team in Hillsboro, OR. As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for owning sustaining and quality assurance activities for commercial products and leading continuous improvement projects to drive process efficiency and reduce product variation.
Key Responsibilities
- Sustain productivity and quality levels of the manufacturing process.
- Disposition non-conforming materials, establish/review/update SPC/SQC control limits, maintain FMEAs and Control Plans, and participate in customer quality and ISO audits.
- Drive productivity in the manufacturing process by identifying opportunities and implementing solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
- Reduce variation in product and process parameters by identifying key contributors to variation and implementing effective control systems and enhanced manufacturing processes.
- Lead root cause investigations of manufacturing out-of-control conditions by troubleshooting equipment and processes, observing and performing experiments, locating the source of problems and implementing permanent effective corrective actions.
- Act as the equipment and process technical expert and provide training and certification to the Operation Associates. Provide technical troubleshooting guidance to the Operation Associates, the Process Engineering Technicians, and maintenance team.
- Develop and execute Design of Experiment trials, manage new product scale-ups, and lead new equipment installations & qualifications as dictated by business need.
- Manage the development of processing equipment operating programs and parameters.
- Lead machine breakdown resolution by providing guidance and hands-on assistance to remedy and correct issues. Collaborate with Equipment Engineering and Maintenance to identify and implement improvements to the preventative maintenance program to optimize machine and equipment uptime for production.
- Participate as a member of a global engineering team to transfer best practices across sites and unit operations.
- Improve upon quality and utilization on automation equipment and processes. Develop plans and lead expansion of future equipment incorporating current learnings to allow for enhancement and advancement in subsequent equipment revisions.
- Collaborate with development engineering in transfers of new products and processes and manage new product scale-ups.
- Effectively work with, and lead, cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements that improve profitability, efficiency, and productivity in the manufacturing process.
- Interface with external vendors to facilitate continuous improvement activities on supported equipment as applicable.
- Act as a project manager for intra-module projects that require cross-functional support and lead projects from the feasibility stage to completion.
- Conduct in-depth technical analysis and feasibility studies to support project planning and long-term resource planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5+ years of related engineering experience (experience in semiconductor or polymer processing is a plus) preferred.
- Experience with chemical blending, injection molding, or compression molding is preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing equipment with programmable user interfaces is preferred.
- Experience with manufacturing planning and/or raw material coordination is preferred.
- Capital Project management experience is preferred.
- Experience with statistical software is required, experience with Minitab and/or JMP preferred.
- Strong statistical knowledge and background related to Six Sigma, SPC/SQC, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Candidates that have strong problem-solving and analysis with the ability to collaborate with teams across different functions.
- Proficient English communication skills (verbal and written).
