Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Career Development Specialist to join our team at Concordia University St. Paul. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to develop and deliver comprehensive career readiness initiatives, consult with employers to coordinate recruiting efforts, and provide career advising and coaching to students and alumni.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Career Advising and Coaching: Provide individualized career advising and coaching to students and alumni, including career planning, job search assistance, internship preparation, resume reviews, and interview preparation.
  • Employer Relations: Coordinate job fairs, co-administer CSP's internships for academic credit process, and collaborate with employers to develop and implement career-focused events.
  • Career Outreach and Programming: Work closely with faculty and staff to develop and deliver career readiness presentations, programming, and curriculum, and collaborate with admissions, academic departments, and student clubs to integrate career development into their work.
  • Technology and Social Media: Contribute to the development of a social media plan, co-manage the department website, and co-manage CSP's job and internship board, Handshake.
  • Supervision: Contribute to onboarding efforts for student employees and develop and oversee daily tasks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Required
  • Master's Degree: Preferred
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience providing instruction on career development topics through individual advising, presentations, and/or programming
  • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience working in a University career center, recruiting/talent development, training, or related setting
  • Senior level: Required 2+ years of experience providing instruction on career development topics through individual advising, presentations, and/or programming.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Ability to work as a member of a high-functioning, collaborative team. Strong evidence of organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with academic departments, faculty, staff, students, and local community
  • Knowledge of employer recruitment strategies, job market trends, occupational, career and employment information sources
  • Ability to develop and implement relevant programming
  • Ability to identify and track data.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills.
