Job Summary

The Occupational Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in their homes. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will work closely with registered occupational therapists to implement personalized treatment plans and promote independence in daily activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient's functional status and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in the ongoing evaluation of the home environment to ensure safety and accessibility
  • Teach new skills or retrain patients in daily activities that have been lost due to illness or injury
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals
  • Contribute to in-services, case conferences, and other meetings to ensure coordinated care
Requirements:
  • Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) required
  • Graduation from an OTA program accredited by ACOTE or its successor organization
  • Eligibility for or successful completion of the NBCOT certification examination
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a certified OTA
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational abilities
