Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and fill medication orders for inpatients, outpatients, and employees, maintaining computerized medication profiles/prescription files.
  • Provide services in the centralized or decentralized model, communicating and consulting with physicians and other healthcare personnel as required.
  • Monitor patient drug therapies for safety and appropriateness and provide drug information.
  • Supervise and direct support personnel, coordinating department activities to ensure the accurate, timely, and cost-effective delivery of quality pharmacy services.
  • In the absence of the pharmacy manager, assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager.

Requirements:

  • Current District of Columbia license to act in the official capacity of Pharmacist.
  • Bachelor of Science in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in hospital pharmacy practice or completion of a pharmacy practice residency in the hospital setting.
  • Sterile compounding experience is highly preferred.
  • Current CPR Certification required.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time, rotating shift position that requires weekends and holidays. The salary range is $55.74 - $91.92 per hour, commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
