Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Corporate Controller to oversee our financial operations at HITT Contracting. This role is essential for maintaining effective internal controls and ensuring compliance with GAAP and our internal accounting standards. As the Corporate Controller, you will be instrumental in refining and implementing processes that align with our organizational goals. Your involvement in accounting and financial reporting will be crucial in providing accurate and timely financial insights to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise precise financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, including the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage journal entries to ensure the integrity of accounts and ledgers during monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of the balance sheet and related sub-ledgers.
- Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure compliant and accurate accounting and financial reporting.
- Implement best practices in accounting to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to maintain oversight of all accounting functions.
- Optimize team performance through effective workload management and strategic recommendations.
- Provide timely and clear communication to the Corporate Accounting team to support successful outcomes.
- Cultivate a high-performing accounting team through effective training and mentorship.
- Assess software systems and automate accounting processes where applicable.
- Lead the implementation of ERP systems for improved financial management.
- Act as a leader in cross-functional accounting projects across the organization.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure strong internal controls and continuous process improvements.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of all tax obligations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- CPA certification is advantageous.
- At least ten years of progressive management and accounting experience.
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency in Excel, financial software, and ERP systems.
- Experience in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls.
- Proven experience in ERP implementation, including business requirements, functional design, mapping, prototyping, testing, and training.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear presentation of financial results.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated self-starter with a proactive approach to efficiency.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining high-performing accounting teams.
