Job Summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in the care of patients with breathing-related conditions, conducting diagnostic testing and developing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and analyze results to develop treatment plans for patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians to implement treatment plans and provide ongoing care to patients.
  • Perform physiotherapy and other treatments to help patients recover from respiratory conditions.
  • Teach patients and their families about respiratory care and provide education on medication use.
  • Monitor and record patient condition, communicating with healthcare teams as needed.
  • Evaluate respiratory care policies and procedures to ensure best practices and patient outcomes.
  • Respond to emergency situations, participating in code teams and rapid response teams as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Respiratory Care or related field.
  • Graduate of a Program in Respiratory Care Therapist.
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification within six months of hire.
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) or eligible to take the NBRC's Registered Respiratory Therapist exams and have passed the RRT exam within 18 months of hire.
  • Licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).
