This is a full-time role for a Radiation Therapist at Indiana University Health.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing a balanced work-life environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for administering ionizing radiation to patients for therapeutic purposes, following the directives of a radiation oncologist. You will ensure precise radiation delivery to designated areas while maintaining strict quality control and safety standards. This position also involves treatment planning, patient care, and scheduling, along with the potential to mentor less experienced staff and students during their clinical rotations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation treatments as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality control.
- Oversee patient care and treatment scheduling.
- Provide mentorship to junior staff and students.
Qualifications:
- Registered RT (T) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or eligibility for registration, with the requirement to pass the exam within three months of hire.
- RT (T) license issued by the Indiana State Department of Health.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current BLS certification.
- Ongoing registration in Radiation Therapy/American Registry of Radiological Technologists (A.R.R.T.).
- CPR certification and Indiana State Department of Health license as a Radiation Therapist.
- Extensive knowledge of radiation oncology technical aspects, including equipment operation and treatment planning.
