Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Structural Bridge Engineer to join our team in the Staunton District. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide technical advice, guidance, and training on assigned engineering program areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and consultation on engineering program areas.
  • Prepare analyses, reports, and recommendations based on engineering determinations.
  • Effectively manage assigned projects to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Communicate with internal staff, local government staff, consultants, and stakeholders regarding transportation projects and programs.
Requirements
  • Ability to estimate quantities and costs of materials.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software applications, including automated engineering and design software.
  • Experience in structural steel design, reinforced and prestressed concrete design, and soil mechanics.
  • Ability to produce structural design plans and notes.
  • Experience applying specifications, codes, and regulations related to structural design.
  • Ability to review and administer consultant design contracts.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and design specifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the design and analysis of bridges and structures.
  • A combination of training, experience, or education in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer's (PE) license.
