About the Job:
We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL. As a key member of our psychiatric care team, you will provide direct support to patients with psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient observation and monitoring services to ensure a safe environment
- Facilitate therapeutic groups to promote patient engagement and progress
- Conduct searches and secure contraband to maintain a secure unit environment
- Assist patients with daily living skills to enhance their independence
- Manage patient behavior and milieu to promote a positive treatment environment
- Document patient records to track progress and identify areas for improvement
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Two years experience working in a psychiatric setting
- CPR certification (may be acquired after hire)
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Availability to work rotating shifts, including weekends
Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
