Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee and enforce project site quality control, including assessing and controlling risk, performing tests and analyzing results, and initiating and enforcing improvement measures related to quality control findings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee construction projects from start to finish, with a focus on quality control.
  • Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
  • Verify that plans, procedures, and document checklists are being used and signed off before the start of each new phase of work.
  • Conduct required meetings with the USACE, superintendent, foreman, and subcontractor responsible for the definable feature of work before the start of each new phase of work.
  • Independently review plans, specifications, construction cost data, and other contract documents to identify potential quality risk factors.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with project specifications.
  • Independently perform specified or required tests to verify that control measures are adequate to provide a product that conforms to contract requirements.
  • Oversee work of subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and maintain the project as-built drawings daily.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project-specific quality control reporting.
  • Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce work activities are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years of federal construction experience, including experience establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems in compliance with contract requirements on USACE and other federal projects.
  • Experience using the Army RMS/QCS system.
  • Highly knowledgeable of construction, building and construction materials, methods, terminology, phases, documentation, and the tools involved in the construction, repair, or remodeling of structures and sites.
  • Strong knowledge of project plans, specifications, shop drawings, samples, and testing.
  • Good understanding of administrative and management principles involved in project planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry.
  • Ability to utilize current programs and create and administer new QC programs.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Must possess the ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Current credentials showing the completion of the course Construction Quality Management for Contractors offered by USACE.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training within the last 5 years.
  • First aid/CPR certification.
