Senior Manager of Manufacturing Process Development

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Manufacturing Process Development to join our team at Form Energy, Inc. As a key member of our manufacturing organization, you will play a critical role in advancing battery assembly processes from prototype to high-volume production.
About the RoleThe Senior Manager of Manufacturing Process Development will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and maximizing process capability and reducing the risk of our manufacturing process ahead of high-volume production.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and demonstrate highly capable processes ahead of detailed equipment design
- Internalize responsibility to factory production metrics during equipment design
- Build and lead a world-class manufacturing development team
- Drive PFMEA and OEE considerations as early as possible in product development
- Utilize statistical analysis tools and methodologies to analyze process data
- Partner with product design, R&D, quality, and supply chain teams
- Define, develop, and implement metrology, quality control methods, and inspection methods
- Conduct process capability studies and lead troubleshooting efforts
- Own the process of handing off stable manufacturing systems to operations teams
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience, ideally in automation and assembly environments
- Proven experience in building and leading a manufacturing engineering team
- Hands-on experience in high-volume manufacturing, particularly in battery manufacturing or a related industry
- Expertise in driving process and equipment maturity, process optimization, and cost reduction
- Experience in championing DFM and effective transition of manufacturing systems to operations teams
- Experience with line design, installation, commissioning, and production ramp
- Experience in custom manufacturing equipment design and development
- Proven track record in statistical analysis and quality management systems
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in process engineering principles, statistical analysis, and quality management systems
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field
