Job Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a Registered Nurse in the Neuroscience Care Unit, you will:
- Deliver direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
- Utilize effective communication strategies in daily interactions.
- Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Identify and address nursing concerns based on individual patient needs.
- Develop personalized care plans through a collaborative approach.
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations when in charge, ensuring quality patient care.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from patients, physicians, and staff.
Key Duties Include:
- Monitoring and documenting changes in patient conditions.
- Maintaining thorough and accurate patient records.
- Recording vital signs and medical information.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Adjusting treatment plans based on patient responses.
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to enhance patient care.
- Educating patients and families on care and health conditions.
- Preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
- Providing discharge instructions to patients and families.
- Upholding the facility's performance standards and values.
- Adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Completing annual competencies specific to the critical care unit.
- Attending all mandatory training and assignments.
Required Qualifications:
- RN licensure from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or a compact state.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- BLS certification required.
- ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
- Specialty certification is preferred.
- One to two years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- ICU experience is advantageous.
