Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with learning or emotional challenges throughout the school day.
  • Collaborate with teachers to build and maintain effective instructional teams.
  • Help create and sustain a supportive, learning-centered environment.
  • Support teachers in planning and organizing educational experiences.
  • Engage students in learning and assist in instructional activities.

  • Provide individualized or small group support to students with disabilities.
  • Participate in regular school meetings and share pertinent information.
  • Implement proactive strategies for behavior and learning.

  • Reinforce classroom learning through review and practice.
  • Execute instructional programs and lessons as designed by the teacher.
  • Support student engagement by recognizing cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and language development.
  • Utilize assistive technology and accommodations as specified in individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Document and collect data on student activities as directed.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Attend family meetings as necessary.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring to enhance student learning.
  • Assist with classroom management, including organizing instructional materials.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred.
  • Background in low-income community engagement is preferred.
  • Strong belief in the potential of outstanding educators to achieve excellent outcomes for all students.
  • Ability to maintain optimism, solve problems effectively, and grow within a collaborative learning community.
  • Commitment to going above and beyond to demonstrate what is possible for students.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
