We are seeking a Part-time Family Practice Physician Assistant to join our Coalition Health Center team. Beacon offers flexible scheduling options (4 x 10s or 3 x 12s) to support a healthy work/life balance.
- Comprehensive Care: Provide support in our primary care family practice clinic.
- Diverse Services: Engage in a variety of services, including x-rays, chronic disease management, sports physicals, and immunizations.
- Collaborative Environment: Work alongside a dedicated team focused on exceptional customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
- Active Alaska License for Physician Assistant
- Current BLS, ACLS, and DEA certifications
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in family practice and urgent care settings
• Deliver primary care medical services to assigned patients, including preventive examinations, injury and illness evaluations, and referrals to specialists as necessary.
• Order, perform, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests as appropriate.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and specialized medical care as needed.
• Execute medical procedures within the scope of practice.
• Evaluate a comprehensive range of treatment options and recommend culturally and age-appropriate courses of action.
• Manage patient care and health status following treatment initiation, making adjustments as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families to ensure understanding of diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care needs.
• Educate and empower patients to take an active role in their healthcare, providing relevant educational materials.
• Document patient interactions in the electronic medical record system (Athena) in accordance with established guidelines.
• Delegate patient care activities to appropriate personnel as needed.
• Ensure continuity of care for patients.
• Collaborate with physician team members as necessary.
• All providers are expected to obtain DOT certification within three months of hire.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work conditions will involve significant walking, standing, stooping, sitting, and assisting with patient positioning, including some lifting.
Contingencies
Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment drug testing, physical examinations, background checks, and motor vehicle reports.
