Job Summary

The Perioperative Medicine Program Director will lead the development and implementation of a new perioperative program, providing strategic direction and clinical expertise. This role will set the stage for the successful implementation of this program and lead its potential future expansion across the hospital system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the preoperative clinic, supervision of all clinic personnel and supporting physicians
  • Developing other aspects of the perioperative processes, creating budgets for the program, and leading development of quality metrics to support exceptional perioperative quality
  • Trains and supervises staff, directs and coordinates patient care activities and department operations, and follows established departmental policies and objectives
  • Participates in specified health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs, and performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience, including residency in a directly related medical specialty
  • Federal DEA Certification, Medical Specialty License or Certification, and Board certification or Board Eligible in Specified Area of Medical Specialty
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care, relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards, and knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise
