Job Summary

unWired Broadband is seeking a skilled Field Construction Assistant to join our operations team. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our Field Construction Specialist in completing construction tasks within set timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the field with site construction, including tower builds, network expansions, and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with building and safety codes, and inspect projects to monitor compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Load, unload, and distribute building materials, machinery, and tools to the appropriate locations.
  • Perform labor tasks, including fabricating and assembling equipment, digging trenches, and laying conduit.
  • Test operation of tower transmission components using sweep testing tools or software.

Requirements:

  • Related hands-on experience in a construction environment or role.
  • Basic knowledge and ability to use hand tools, and ability to learn proper function and techniques for operating tools.
  • Ability to learn NEC standards and how they apply to our scope of work.
  • Ability to learn electrical theories, system designs, and troubleshooting techniques for both AC and DC power.
  • Ability to learn HVAC systems and troubleshooting techniques for our systems.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex technical information.
  • Problem-solving skills, including identifying and resolving problems timely.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Must have and maintain a clear DMV record and the ability to drive for business purposes.
