Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care to animals? We're seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technician to join our team at MSPCA-Angell West.
About the RoleAs a Diagnostic Imaging Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality radiographs and imaging services to our patients. You will work closely with our veterinarians, clients, and other team members to ensure seamless care.
Key Responsibilities- Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of medical terminology and animal anatomy to accurately interpret imaging requests.
- Set up the x-ray suite with finesse for each unique study.
- Apply ALARA radiation safety principles like a pro, donning lead gloves, gowns, thyroid shields, and dosimeter badges.
- Ensure image quality control and apply the latest techniques.
- Capture high-quality radiographs of all body parts.
- Collaborate with radiologists to set up and assist during special procedures.
- Ensure proper patient identification, marker placement, and orientation for radiographs.
- Manage EMR, PACS, and DX modality PCs to complete comprehensive studies.
- Coordinate workflow across different modalities.
- Administer IV or IM injections as needed.
