Ultrasound Technologist (Per-Diem)

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled and dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on a per-diem basis. As a key member of our radiology team, you will be responsible for conducting ultrasound examinations, ensuring high-quality images, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Conducts scanning process using ultrasound equipment, adjusting settings to produce optimal images
  • Reviews patient history and clinical data to facilitate accurate diagnostic results
  • Explains procedures to patients, ensuring cooperation and understanding
  • Selects appropriate transducers for optimal results
  • Positions patients for optimal imaging
  • Reschedules exams as necessary due to poor preparation or other issues
  • Ensures image quality and transfers images to PACS for radiologist interpretation
  • Assembles diagnostic images and reports for radiologist review
  • Assists physicians with interventional procedures and maintains a high standard of professionalism
Requirements:
  • RDMS-registered diagnostic medical sonographer (must have AB)
  • Successful completion of a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) program or meets education pre-requisites outlined by the ARDMS
  • Knowledge of anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ultrasound physics
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to provide compassionate care
  • Ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately
  • Proficient in use of GE and Philips scanners
