About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Technician to join our team at Apria Healthcare. As a Patient Service Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering and picking up equipment from homecare patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and pick up equipment from homecare patients, setting up equipment and instructing patients on its use.
  • Schedule and organize daily deliveries and pickups according to geographic territory, loading and unloading durable medical or infusion equipment, oxygen, and medical supplies onto delivery vehicles.
  • Comply with all applicable regulatory requirements, including providing documents needed for the driver qualification file and abiding by hours of service, daily log, hazardous materials, and vehicle inspection and maintenance regulations.
  • Complete necessary paperwork, including daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs, distributing paperwork to appropriate personnel.
  • Notify supervisor if any of the following items are discovered in the patient's home: physical abuse of any family member, home environment is unsafe for the care ordered, unsanitary conditions, or insufficient food for children.
Requirements
  • Education or experience equivalent to a high school diploma is required.
  • At least one year of related work experience is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time of hire.
  • Minimum of three years driving history required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of Apria Healthcare's Driver Training Program.
Working Conditions

The employee will be required to work in a variety of environments, including patient homes, delivery vehicles, and company facilities. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels, dust, fumes, and odors. The employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment consistent with the hazards encountered in this role.

The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, reaching, and stooping. The employee must be able to lift objects from 1 to 36 inches high with weights ranging from 10 to 160 pounds and carry objects for distances ranging from 1 to 350 feet. The employee must be able to push or pull objects weighing from 20 to 60 pounds up and down stairs, through doorways and thresholds, using dollies or carts, or on flat or angled surfaces.
