Job Title: Psychiatric Technician (Safety)

Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Technician (Safety) is a critical member of the healthcare team at Mule Creek State Prison, providing high-quality patient care and support services to individuals with mental health needs. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver basic level nursing care, behavioral and psychiatric nursing care, and support services to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic level nursing care, behavioral and psychiatric nursing care, and support services to patients in a correctional healthcare setting.
  • Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to deliver patient care and support services.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare services to patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, including behavioral and psychiatric care plans.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the Bureau of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPTE).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional healthcare environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification.
