Job Summary

The Security Officer will be responsible for fostering a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff at Christ Presbyterian Church, Incorporated. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with traffic control and provide campus patrol services, including monitoring parking areas and responding to incidents.
  • Monitor closed buildings for unauthorized persons and suspicious activities, and examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure security.
  • Respond to alarms and take appropriate corrective action, and complete and submit reports concerning incidents and unusual occurrences.
  • Remain alert for the presence of unauthorized persons and/or security code violators, and approach suspicious persons and/or notify police as appropriate.
  • Investigate issues on campus as needed, and attend large group assemblies and stay vigilant for any security concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 10 years of police or military experience
  • Must have or be able to obtain an armed guard license from the State of Tennessee within 60 days of hire
  • Must have or be able to complete the most recent active shooter training as required by the Safe School Act in the State of Tennessee within 60 days of hire
  • Applicant is required to be eligible to obtain LEOSA certification

  • LEOSA Certification
  • Emergency Management Experience
  • Fire Safety experience
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Experience and knowledge of ICS and NIMS
  • Technical experience with physical security systems
