About the Position

This is a challenging role that requires advanced clerical accounting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. As a Senior Account Clerk, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, reviewing, auditing, and processing financial and statistical records, reports, and claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed financial records and reports
  • Conduct audits and reconciliations of financial accounts and records
  • Process and verify financial transactions and claims
  • Provide exceptional customer service and respond to inquiries from the public
  • Lead and train subordinate staff and provide guidance and support as needed
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial record keeping

Requirements

  • Two years of paid, full-time experience employed by Sacramento County in the class of Account Clerk
  • Or three years of paid, full-time experience preparing or reconciling financial or statistical records
  • Completion of 30 semester units (45 quarter units) including two mathematics, bookkeeping, or accounting courses from an accredited college or business school may be substituted for one year of the required experience
