Position Overview
The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the daily financial operations for the designated market. This includes fiscal accountability for generating comprehensive and precise financial statements, conducting quarterly forecasts, and actively participating in the land acquisition feasibility process. Additionally, this position serves as the risk manager for the division's operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Coordinate the annual planning process, quarterly forecasts, and periodic financial submissions, including presenting results to area leadership.
  • Manage the land acquisition feasibility assessments for new communities and oversee land sale disposition activities.
  • Act as the risk manager for the assigned market, overseeing litigation management and involvement with homeowners' association management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams.
  • Provide strategic counsel to homebuilding functional leaders to drive improved business outcomes.

Management Responsibilities:
This role involves mentoring and coaching without direct reports, ensuring adequate staffing to meet departmental needs, and utilizing recruitment processes to build organizational talent. Responsibilities also include delegating tasks based on employee capabilities, evaluating performance for compensation planning, and creating growth opportunities through training.

Physical Requirements:
A valid driver's license is required as driving is an essential function of this position.

Education Requirements:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting (or equivalent in a related field) is required. A Certified Public Accounting license (active or inactive) is strongly preferred.

Experience Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience in public accounting or extensive homebuilding experience is required. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting, along with excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $200,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses and equity grants.
