Job Title: Student Assistance Professional

Join the Puget Sound Educational Service District team as a Student Assistance Professional, providing critical support to students and families in need. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with school staff, community partners, and families to identify and address the behavioral health needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement prevention and intervention plans to support students at risk of mental health concerns
  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students, as well as family support and education
  • Collaborate with school staff and community partners to identify and address systemic issues and strategies related to student assistance programming
  • Conduct home visits and provide support to students and families in their homes
  • Participate in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to facilitate referral and coordination of supports for school staff, students, and parents
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Human Services, Psychology, or Social Work
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible job-related experience, or in progress to attain AA/AAS degree in one of the above fields within one (1) year of hire
  • Professional experience working with youth ages 10-21 in a counseling or case management role
  • Experience collaborating with professionals from multiple disciplines with the goal of improving behavioral health outcomes for children and youth
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with evidence-based mental health practices and child/family wellness and recovery
  • Professional work experience working within a school environment or youth serving agency
  • Experience with child/adolescent group counseling
  • Experience working with diverse populations
