You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of specified body areas.
- Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and body portion involved.
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides.
- Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Process images and review them for proper identification and quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a specialty, or one year of experience with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in that specialty.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California).
- Basic Life Support.
