Senior Care Professional

Walnut Place is seeking a compassionate and skilled Senior Care Professional to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Job Summary:Provide direct resident care activities, including assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. Assist the Director of Health Services in ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide resident care as assigned, including administering medications, responding to resident calls, and providing nursing interventions.
- Dispense medications per physicians' orders and ensure narcotic counts are accurate at the beginning and end of shift.
- Receive and give end-of-shift report, provide report to nurse's aides/caregivers, and supervise and assign work for nurse's aides/caregivers.
- May assist with finding replacements for call-ins and follow documentation policy.
- Account for all assigned equipment at the end of shift and call healthcare providers to facilitate medication orders, supplies, transportation, etc.
- Schedule staff and secure replacements for absences, complete 24-hour census report, and order medications and process new healthcare provider's orders.
- Call resident's emergency contact person as necessary, order trays, and facilitate care for residents who are temporarily ill.
- Follow OSHA compliance and safety procedures, document resident status as per policy, and provide daily supervision to assigned staff.
- Participate in the admission of new residents, assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), family/social activities, and promote independent lifestyle of residents.
- Respond to resident call system promptly and courteously, identify resident medical and behavioral changes, and develop and monitor care plans and re-assess each resident.
- Provide daily report to the Director of Health Services concerning community conditions, personnel performance, resident conditions, and needs for nursing supplies.
- Ensure preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to residents and assist in the coordination of nursing care with care rendered by other disciplines.
- Make rounds with physician(s), assist in examinations and/or treatment of residents, and carry out orders.
- Accurately administer prescribed medications, supervise the continuity of nursing care, respond to changes in medical condition, medications, or other circumstances requiring special care needs, and perform first aid as required.
Requirements:
- Current nursing license valid in the state worked.
- Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community.
- Doctor's statement designating free from communicable disease.
