Job Summary
CSL is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Plasma Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of plasma products.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and process plasma samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate labeling and storage of plasma units, including unsuitable plasma units and samples.
- Verify the accuracy of unit labeling and utilize sterile technique to draw samples.
- Prepare shipping and unit disposal documentation, and ensure compliance with SOPs and center procedures.
- Monitor freezer and refrigerator temperatures, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Conduct daily calibration of equipment according to SOPs.
- Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
- Understand and adhere to policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs.
- Maintain a clean and efficient work environment, and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available.
- Promote safety in all actions, and maintain confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a laboratory or warehouse environment preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
- Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
Working Conditions
- Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
- Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
