Key Responsibilities- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and provincial regulations governing payroll, taxes, and benefits, and identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Employee Support: Handle employee payroll inquiries and resolve any payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- HR Coordination: Coordinate with our HR team to ensure the accuracy of employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Payroll Tax Filings: Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulatory requirements.
- Audits and Compliance: Perform regular audits of payroll procedures and records to ensure accuracy and compliance, and assist in the preparation and facilitation of payroll-related audits.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve payroll processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Experience: 3-5 years of professional work experience in payroll processing, with a strong focus on compliance and risk management.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of payroll practices, laws, and regulations in both the US and Canada, experience with payroll software and systems, and exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or the Certified Public Bookkeeper (CPB), are highly desirable.
