U-Haul Storage Center Manager Job Description

U-Haul is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to manage one of our storage centers. As a Storage Center Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the facility, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high level of inventory control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the storage center, including supervising staff and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Manage the fleet of equipment, ensuring it is clean, well-maintained, and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and manage the personnel budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
  • Ensure that customers receive the highest level of care and service, resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous education through U-Haul University, staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of management experience in retail or a related industry, with a proven track record of financial results and customer satisfaction.
  • Computer expertise, including proficiency in inventory management systems and software.
  • Organizational expertise, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays, as required.
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with moderate risks and discomforts requiring special safety precautions. The physical demands of the job include long periods of standing, walking, and lifting, with a minimum of 50 pounds assisted or unassisted.
