Job Summary:

Penn Entertainment is seeking a skilled Slot Machine Technician to join our team. As a Slot Machine Technician, you will be responsible for the overall repair and maintenance of all slot machines and gaming devices, ensuring they are in full capacity operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain exceptional customer service standards with each patron and employee interaction.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including cleaning, inspecting, adjusting, and testing various machine parts.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine malfunction problems as they occur during gaming.
  • Assist floor supervisors with malfunctions and answer floor calls, excluding jackpots when business dictates.
  • Ensure slot machines are filled with ticket paper to maintain constant operation.
  • Assist customers with questions and complaints regarding slot machines, providing answers and explanations and resolving problems as necessary.
  • Work on special projects as assigned, assisting with every phase from layout to installation.
  • Maintain knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws, including federal, state, compact, and attendant regulations, as well as property internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Bring disputes and unusual guest activities to the attention of the shift manager.
  • Present oneself as a credit to the company and encourage others to do the same.

Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing & Gaming Commissions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six months to one year experience in electronics and maintenance of technical equipment, game machines, or slot machines preferred.
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including all shifts, days, and holidays.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with fluency and literacy in English.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of New Mexico gaming laws and regulations, as well as Penn National Gaming's internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and promote a cooperative approach between departments.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Physical Demands:

  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 250 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
